James norcom biography
Harriet Ann Jacobs recounts in her book, 'Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl', how he and Henry Flurry witnessed a codicil to the will of Margaret Horniblow that left Harriet a slave to Horniblow's five year old niece instead of to her mother.
Thus, Norcom became her 'de facto' owner and subjected her to sexual harassment.[1]
He passed away in 1850 . Harriet's grandmother wrote her of his passing.[2] He was buried at St. Paul's Episcopal Churchyard, Edenton, North Carol
