Hg wells biography summary worksheets

This resource provides teachers with a short biography of early science fiction writer H.G. Wells and is perfect for introducing a unit on The Invisible Man or The Time Machine, or any of Wells’ works or science fiction in general.

It works well as a homework assignment, independent work, or to place in your sub file.

The resource includes two reading passages about the author of, among several works, The War of the Worlds. The biographical texts form a brief sketch of his life from his birth in 1866 to his death in 1946.

Wells came from a humble background but rose to become a highly regarded writer of his time and is considered to be the first true science fiction writer in the English language.

A page of questions (assessing comprehension as well as expressing opinions while citing evidence) is included as well as a short vocabulary assignment on each of the passage pages.
